I recommend forgetting about getting a cute little gender-specific outfit prior to the arrival of your new grandchild. Let me speak from experience! My niece had a gender reveal party after getting an ultrasound. I excitedly went out and bough three beautiful Disney princess dresses and I awaited the arrival of my little grand-niece. My niece designed the baby's room with a girls theme in mind. Labor came early and surprise! We welcomed adorable, and perfect little Emiliano in to the world.
Sometimes medical professionals do not get it right, especially if the baby is shy during the ultrasound. In my niece's situation, even the delivery medical team were surprised that Emiliano boldly entered the world, and not a girl. Family members quickly scrambled to change Emiliano's bedroom from a pink scheme to navy blue. I went out and swiftly bought cute infant boy outfits and the infant Disney princess dresses are still sitting in a box in my closet.
What is the moral to this story? Always be prepared for surprises when newborns are on their way!
